Llangollen Bridge

Llangollen Railway has many buildings of various types as part of its infrastructure.

The Llangollen GWR Goods shed is now the Locomotive Shed Machine Shop.

The steam shed at Llangollen and the carriage shed at Pentrefelyn are new build, portal frame structures which are clad to blend with the surroundings.

Goods Junction, Deeside Loop and Carrog signal boxes are new build boxes on the old foundations built closely to the original design. Glyndyfrdwy Signal Box and Station Building are of wooden construction, rescued from elsewhere before demolition and re-erected on the railway.

Looking after them and keeping them in good condition are part of the many tasks undertaken by volunteers. If you have skills in building, or if you would like to learn some skills in building, why not come down to the Railway, have a look around and have a chat with the volunteers and full time staff on the railway on that day. You will be surprised at how many things you can get involved with!
