Llangollen Railway runs trains for 7 ½ miles along the banks of the River Dee

from Llangollen  to Carrog through some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK.

We are in the process of extending the railway for a further 2 1/2 miles from the railhead at Carrog to the town of Corwen. See below for updates on progress

We operate on most weekends throughout the year, and on weekdays between April and October

CORWEN EXTENSION

Progress with the extension to the railway is steady and we expect to have the line from Carrog to Bonwm Halt (about half way to Corwen) operational for the Steel Steam and Stars Mega Gala in April.

Meanwhile, fencing, trackbed preparation and track laying continue.

I am still working on the new appearance for this website. Work is progressing on the tidying up of the existing pages. I have noted that the text is obscured on some pages and I have started to realign the text boxes to remove this. Some of the pages also have new information and pictures added, although there is a great deal to add in total.                                 John Rutter - Webmaster
